With spring and summer weather comes Tasty Tuesday, a weekly selection of food trucks on Wilson Quadrangle, River Campus. Find a list of today’s trucks as well as a full schedule of upcoming offerings below in the For the Community section.

FOR STUDENTS

Jump-start your semester of leadership

Build skills and develop competencies to add to your résumé as you grow your leadership potential through the Medallion Program. You do not need to be a member of the program to attend workshops—they are open to all undergraduate students. Test drive the first session, “Understanding Leadership,” on Wednesday, June 15, at 3 p.m. EDT via Zoom. Already completed level one? Get a head start on level two on Wednesday, June 22, at 3 p.m. EDT via Zoom. Explore your personalized leadership journey through the Medallion Program and register to attend workshops. AAPI trainee support group meeting

The Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) trainee support committee will host ​a support group meeting on Zoom on Thursday, June 16, from noon to 1 p.m. EDT to create a safe space for AAPI graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to check in, share experiences, and support one another. Drop in at any time. Register in advance to attend; you’ll receive a confirmation email with information about joining the meeting.​

Studio Sweat On-Demand is Well-U’s new wellness streaming platform with over 1,800 fitness classes and well-being content. Classes are available both live and on-demand so you can work out, stretch, and meditate, anytime and anywhere. Learn more about the platform and sign up here.

Food drive for Buffalo community

University Health Service is holding a food drive in memory and honor of Mother Pearl Young, a victim of the Buffalo shooting, who ran a food pantry through her church for 25 years; donations will be used to support the pantry at her church. Nonperishable food items can be dropped off at boxes in Wilson Commons 201 (Common Connection) and in Lam Square, Rush Rhees Library, over the next couple of weeks.

Tasty Tuesday food trucks visiting today

Treat yourself to local cuisine on Tasty Tuesdays from food trucks on Wilson Quadrangle from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each week during the summer. Today features Eat Greek, Morgan’s Cereal Bar, and Effortlessly Healthy. Whether you purchase food from the trucks or bring your own lunch, there will be lawn games, music, and picnic blankets to enjoy. Food trucks will be serving rain or shine and accept cash or credit payments. Find the full Tasty Tuesday schedule online.

Concert by Eastman pianist to benefit Ukrainian music students

Alex Kobrin, an associate professor of piano at the Eastman School of Music, will give a faculty fundraising concert on Wednesday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Kilbourn Hall. All funds raised will be used to cover music lessons, travel expenses, and accommodations for Ukrainian students attending Estonia’s Hiiumaa Homecoming Music Festival, codirected by Kobrin.

‘Perplexed about Preprints’

Learn about preprint servers medRxiv and bioRxiv at a virtual lecture on Wednesday, June 22, at noon EDT. Find more information and register to attend.

Face masks are strongly encouraged for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors indoors. Patient care areas, as well as University shuttles and transportation, continue to require masking.
