Can the public’s trust in science—and scientists—be restored?

Recent polls indicate that the American public’s trust in scientists has dropped significantly. Adam Frank, the Helen F. and Fred H. Gowen Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, believes the public’s faith in science will make a comeback—but it will take time.

In today’s issue:

  • New research on Twitter users’ perceptions toward e-cigs
  • Several faculty members have recently been appointed to named positions
  • Strong Memorial Hospital recently celebrated its 300th heart transplant
