SECURITY TIP

Scrambled data: how to disguise your sensitive info

Think of your sensitive information as a puzzle. Hackers can piece together data from your tax return documents, photos (important dates, addresses), travel plans, and application forms to steal your identity. By encrypting your device, cybercriminals can only see scrambled data, which is useless to them. Encryption also protects information should your device be lost or stolen and secures any files you share. Visit University IT’s Device Encryption FAQs page for more information and the Encryption Tutorials page for guides on encrypting your device.
