FOR FACULTY AND STAFF

Save time and money by riding together

In celebration of National Rideshare Month, Transportation and Parking highlights ways to get to work and around town in a shared transportation mode—like carpooling. Join one of the University’s 758 carpool groups, made up of between two to four carpoolers, or start your own and reap benefits such as discounted parking permits. Since fuel costs can be shared and emissions per person are cut, carpooling is a great way to lower expenses and reduce your personal environmental impact. When three people carpool, two cars are eliminated from the road and congested parking lots. Register with 511NY, the University’s rideshare partner, to match with fellow commuters going your way. While you’re there, try the commuter savings calculator to find out how much you could save by carpooling.
