Adopt an international student for graduation

Due to visa restrictions, high travel costs, and other factors, some international students graduating in May will not have any family present to celebrate their accomplishments. Consider filling in for their family by adopting a grad. If you’re able to attend a departmental ceremony on Saturday, May 13, or Sunday, May 14, can take lots of pictures, and would like to get to know a student, express your interest here. Contact Nate Bloemke from the International Services Office for more information.

Deadline extended for translational science pilot award

The Clinical and Translational Science Institute is seeking applications for a new translational science pilot award with a focus on dissemination and implementation; clinical trials; health equity and ethics; or quantitative modeling to improve the translational process. Distinct from translational research, translational science is the field of investigation focused on understanding the scientific and operational principles underlying each step of the translational process, with the goal of developing generalizable principles to accelerate translational research. Email Jane_Tolbert@urmc.rochester.edu with questions. Submit letters of intent by Monday, April 17, at 5 p.m.
