Digital Media Studies and the Memorial Art Gallery team up in digital equity project

With an NYC Media Lab Museum Initiative grant, a partnership between the Memorial Art Gallery and a Digital Media Studies team has resulted in new educational materials available to a national audience of educators and students through a portal created by Verizon to help promote digital equity among the nation’s schoolchildren.

Eastman School of Music Dean Jamal Rossi to step down after 2023–24 academic year

Jamal Rossi, the Joan and Martin Messinger Dean of the Eastman School of Music, announced that he will not seek reappointment following his current appointment term, which ends following the 2023–24 academic year. Rossi has served as dean since 2014, presiding over a transformational period for the music school. The University will soon initiate a national search to identify the next dean.

Summer applications for tuition reimbursement

If you are attending an outside college or university, be sure to submit your tuition reimbursement application within 30 days of the start of the course. Visit the tuition benefits website to download the application and learn more.

Eastman Community Music School Springfest

At the end of each school year, Eastman Community Music School showcases the talents and hard work of its students and ensembles during Springfest, this year running May 22 through June 4. All performances are free and open to the public. Find details and a full schedule here.

Comedy fundraiser to support patient care at Strong

Join Friends of Strong at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 2, at Comedy at the Carlson for an evening of standup comedy featuring Sky Sands and guest emcees Rosemary Ventura, chief nursing information officer, and Lisa Nelson, associate vice president of IT applications. Help raise the roof and raise funds to help support patient care initiatives throughout Strong Memorial Hospital. Tickets are $30 per person and may be purchased online.

68th Rochester Finger-Lakes Exhibition at MAG

The 68th Rochester-Finger Lakes Exhibition, a long-running showcase for artists from western and central New York, is on view at the Memorial Art Gallery through August 6 and is being juried by Molly Donovan, curator of contemporary art at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC.
