Life insurance and retirement beneficiary information

To ensure that your life insurance benefits and retirement plan assets are distributed according to your wishes and without delay, it’s important to name specific beneficiaries and keep your designations up to date. If you do not designate a beneficiary for your life insurance policy, benefits will be paid according to a default order of priority. Similarly, your retirement plan assets will be transferred according to the terms of your plan’s beneficiary designation, not your will.
  • To view or change your retirement beneficiary information, go to TIAA.org/rochester to register or log in to your account. Once logged in, under the “Actions” tab, choose “Add/Edit Beneficiaries.”
  • To view or change your life insurance beneficiary information, log into HRMS ( and click on “Securian Financial.”
