A new artificial intelligence-based technique for measuring fluid flow around the brain’s blood vessels could have big implications for developing treatments for diseases such as Alzheimer’s. The multidisciplinary research team of mechanical engineers, neuroscientists, and computer scientists was led by Douglas Kelley, an associate professor of mechanical engineering and a staff scientist at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics.

Mariah Steele, an assistant professor in the Program of Dance and Movement, says of Martha Graham that many students are “still following in her footsteps, but I think that a lot of people don’t realize that anymore because of the lost history.” While interdisciplinary cultural or gender studies projects that involve dance are thriving, dance history, in and of itself, is struggling, says Steele, an assessment echoed by professors in other college dance programs.

University employees can use their tuition benefits toward one of Simon Business School’s part-time business degrees: Executive MBA, Professional MBA, MS in medical management, and online MS in business analytics. In addition to tuition benefits, employees are also eligible for merit-based scholarship consideration, which can help offset the remaining tuition costs after tuition benefits are applied. The next application deadline is June 15—it’s free to apply, you’ll receive your decision by July 30. A GMAT or GRE score is not required. Reach out to admissions@simon.rochester.edu with questions.
