Register for the Three Minute Thesis competition

The 2023 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition and reception will take place during Meliora Weekend on Friday, October 6, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Holding the 3MT in October will allow the winner to attend the regional competition in the spring. Registration is now open.

An international event founded at the University of Queensland, 3MT is a spoken word thesis competition and an opportunity for Rochester doctoral students to present their dissertation research findings to a general audience in three minutes with only one PowerPoint slide. The goal is for students to engage all their communication skills to make their research vivid and engaging while emphasizing its key point without jargon.
