Can an app improve your romantic relationship?

A recent pilot study of the relationship app Agapé, codeveloped by Ronald Rogge, an associate professor of psychology, found that the overwhelming majority of study participants—8 out of 10—reported improved and healthier relationships after one month of app usage.

Graduate student well-being needs assessment

All University graduate students are invited to participate in an anonymous well-being needs assessment by December 22. The data will allow the UHS Health Promotion Office and Graduate Student Wellness Committee to understand the well-being needs of graduate students better, and help create new programs, services, and systems-level changes to support graduate student well-being. Participants can enter a raffle where three winners will receive an exclusive University wellness basket including a Rochester mug, noise-canceling headphones, a happy lamp, and tea; a Rochester bag; or a Rochester hat.

‘Commit to Quit!’ in 2024

Start your new year by committing to cut back or quit smoking or vaping. “Commit to Quit!,” a free, six-session virtual series led by nicotine treatment specialists at the Center for Community Health & Prevention, starts at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 11. The program provides an interactive, encouraging, and understanding environment designed to support your journey to freedom from smoking or vaping. Gain valuable information and connect with those with similar goals. Resources for further individualized services are provided if needed. Register today.

Visual Music 6.0 with the Beal Institute

On Saturday, January 20, at 7:30 p.m., “Visual Music 6.0” presents current students from the Beal Institute of Film Music and Contemporary Media in a live-to-picture staging of their original compositions, played by the Empire Film and Media Ensemble. The program includes an original score to accompany the 1931 adaptation of Frankenstein. This performance takes place in Kilbourn Hall, Eastman School of Music, and is free and open to the public.

Friends of Strong Gala Wine Tasting fundraiser

Tickets are on sale now for Friends of Strong’s 30th annual Gala Wine Tasting fundraiser.
