Winter Break and holiday shuttle changes

Reduced shuttle service to River Campus will begin on Tuesday, December 26. Medical Center shuttles—Corporate Woods, evening staff shuttle, and Lot 24/Scottsville Road—will operate according to their regular schedules during Winter Break. There will be no shuttle service for any University shuttle routes on December 25 and January 1 due to University holidays. Research reveals transformative impact of mind/body approaches in chronic pain

Counseling researchers led by Douglas Guiffrida, a professor of counseling and human development from the Warner School of Education and Human Development, have revealed promising insights into the effectiveness of mind/body interventions in treating chronic pain. The study not only supports the efficacy of the therapy in relieving chronic physical pain but also identifies key conditions contributing to its success.

FOR FACULTY AND STAFF

HR Modernization: myURHR go-live update

2024 is shaping up to be a dynamic year for HR modernization efforts—including the go-live of myURHR, the University’s modern HR workspace replacing HRMS. Following a thorough analysis of many factors and intersecting projects, myURHR’s go-live is shifting from spring 2024 to fall 2024. The added time will allow the project team more time to engage University members in preparing for the transition to myURHR, as well as test and verify Workday and UKG (the two market-leading software programs that will power myURHR) effectively meet the needs of all faculty, staff, student workers, and other University members. Be on the lookout for more communications and engagement activities in preparation for myURHR.

Tuition reimbursement reminder

Employees attending an outside school for the spring 2024 semester must submit their tuition reimbursement application via email. All applications must be received no later than 30 days after the start of the course. The application can be found on the tuition benefits website.
