New this year, a team category has been added to the staff, junior faculty, and senior faculty award categories. Apply for the Equity-Focused Dissemination and Implementation Pilot Award

The Equity-Focused Dissemination and Implementation Pilot awards stimulate early-phase research incorporating health equity-focused dissemination and implementation science (EQ-DI). EQ-DI is the science and practice of effective translation, distribution, and use of evidence-based interventions and policies in real-world settings, explicitly focusing on addressing health inequities. Teams with at least one University faculty member can apply for up to $30,000 to support 11 months of research activities. Apply by Monday, April 1.

Funding for student course development projects

The Teaching Center provides the student’s summer stipend, on-campus housing, and materials budget.  Applications are due April 1.

‘Crucial Conversations’ training

Effective communication is essential particularly in challenging situations when addressing emotional or high-stakes topics. Learn to speak up quickly, directly, and effectively when it matters most and be heard—while encouraging others to do the same—by taking advantage of research-based “Crucial Learning” training programs available for University employees.

  • “Crucial Conversations for Mastering Dialogue” classes teach step-by-step skills to surface the best ideas, make the highest-quality decisions, and then act on your decisions with unity and commitment.
  • “Crucial Conversations for Accountability” classes build upon learned communication skills to hold others accountable, improve performance, and ensure execution.

Led by certified “Crucial Learning” instructors, a variety of both types of classes are offered to all employees. A two-day bundled class including both classes is also available. More information, as well as registration for upcoming spring dates, is available on the HR website.

Rochester students studying at all levels and across all schools were encouraged to participate in the survey. The results of the survey help the University understand the prevalence and nature of students’ experiences with sexual and relationship violence, harassment, and other sexual misconduct, as well as students’ knowledge and opinion of the Title IX resources available to them. The University’s survey report and appendices are posted on the University’s Title IX website. Email titleix@rochester.edu with specific questions.
