The United Way’s e-pledge system will be down starting around 9 p.m. today, March 28, through 8 a.m. on Monday, April 1. If you are planning to make a pledge, do so accordingly. The 2024 pledge window closes on May 8.

Attend FASA Fest hosted by the Filipino American Students’ Association to experience Filipino culture, and have fun with cultural games, snacks, and performances. The event is Friday, March 29, in Hirst Lounge, Wilson Commons, from 3 to 7 p.m.
Perform or host an event during fall Welcome Week
Fall 2024 Welcome Week program proposals and performance interest forms for School of Arts & Sciences and Hajim School of Engineering undergraduate student organizations are due Monday, April 1, by 11:59 p.m. Plan and host a program or activity for new students or perform at select events throughout the week with your student organization. Qigong classes
The Mindful University Project offers weekly qigong classes, open and free to all University students and R-Club members. The class will offer the skills and philosophies of qigong, an ancient system that uses the body, mind, and breath to improve mental and physical health. Held every Monday at 4 p.m. during the spring semester in the Goergen Athletic Center. You can register here; walk-ins are also welcome.

The 174th University Commencement ceremony takes place at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 17, at Fauver Stadium in the Brian F. Prince Athletic Complex. A reminder that regalia is available to order online until Sunday, March 31, and is required for faculty who participate in Commencement or any of the graduation ceremonies. Faculty are encouraged to visit the Faculty Resource web page for more information and a form to register for the various University, school, and department ceremonies.
LGBTQ+ Safe Space courses
New opportunities for all faculty and staff to register for LGBTQ+ Safe Space courses are now available. Registration for the first Zoom course, “Part 1: Gaining Knowledge,” can be found by searching for the “Safe Space Playlist” within MyPath. After completing this course, you may register to complete “Part 2: Creating Safety to Become a University of Rochester LGBTQ+ Safe Space Champion.” Classes are free and remain virtual. Family Roundtable spring symposium features biobehavioral family model
Beatrice Wood, a professor of psychiatry, pediatrics, and psychology at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, will present “The Biobehavioral Family Model: Map and GPS for Family Research, Training, and Practice” at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, in the Saunders Research Building. The event is sponsored by the University Committee for Interdisciplinary Studies, which aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among faculty, students, and others concerned with the health and well-being of families. Grand rounds webinar on health equity measurement
The next public health grand rounds webinar will cover the basics of patient-reported sociodemographic data, the validation of this data, and its subsequent use to identify healthcare disparities through measure disaggregation.
