TODAY'S UPDATES

Deadline extended: Help make campus better for all

Where do you eat, study, work, and socialize? What routes do you use to travel in between? What do you like or dislike about these experiences? To gather more feedback heading into the master planning process, the University has extended the deadline to May 6 for all faculty, staff, and students to Map Your UR.  Help inform future campus improvements by marking and rating the locations that are important to your success at work or school. This activity takes just 10 minutes to complete. Email masterplan@rochester.edu with questions.

Rochester faculty are being honored for notable and longtime contributions to their fields. Recent award recipients include:

FOR FACULTY AND STAFF

Submit overdue performance evaluations by May 10

Performance evaluations for all University staff were due on Friday, April 19. Managers are strongly encouraged to submit outstanding evaluations by Friday, May 10, in MyPath. The University’s annual Performance Evaluation process serves many important purposes including providing an opportunity for both managers and staff to receive feedback and evaluate progress over the last year, as well as set goals, plan projects, and establish timelines for the year ahead. Additionally, the evaluations provide a record of employee performance and help to foster conversations about growth and career development at the University. Managers should contact their department’s HR Business Partner with any questions.

Commencement will affect River Campus parking

On Friday, May 17, Rochester will hold its University-wide Commencement Ceremony. This will have a significant impact on campus traffic flow and parking.

All River Campus lots will be needed for guest parking, and students and their families will begin arriving around 7 a.m. Given the heavy traffic flow and need for guest parking, departmental supervisors are encouraged to consider alternatives to staff working onsite that day, where operationally possible.

Medical Center employees who park in lots accessed off Crittenden and Kendrick Roads will likely encounter increased traffic that morning and should adjust their travel times accordingly. All Medical Center lots will be open. Medical Center permit holders should park in their assigned lot.
