Reflecting on the second anniversary of the Buffalo shootings
A message on the University’s Live the Six website commemorates the second anniversary of the deaths of 10 people at a supermarket in Buffalo by a racist shooter on May 14, 2022. Adrienne Morgan, vice president for equity and inclusion and the Richard Feldman Chief Diversity Officer, says, “The Live the Six movement was born out of the tragedy of that day. Each year we honor the innocent victims whose memories remind us of our calling to Stop Hate, End Racism, and Choose L.O.V.E. (Live Our Values Everywhere).”
UR Medicine leads nation in transforming care for aging adults
University flags on the Eastman Quadrangle and near the entrance of Strong Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department will be lowered on Thursday, May 23, for Michael Mack, a cook helper in Dining and Auxiliary Operations, who died on May 5. Mack joined the University staff in 2022.
Graduates: Make sure your Commencement guests have their registration QR code
Guests entering Fauver Stadium for Friday morning’s University Commencement Ceremony will need to present a valid QR code—either on a phone or printed on paper—to show that they are registered for the ceremony.
Registered guests should have received a unique QR code by email as part of the registration process. If you registered your guests using your email address, your guests’ QR codes were sent to you. Make sure they have been distributed to your guests before Friday’s ceremony. If you haven’t already registered your guests, you can do so here. Join the Mindful University Project for twice-weekly yoga classes this summer on Mondays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. starting May 20 in the Leibner-Cooper Room, Goergen Athletic Center. Classes are free for full-time students and R-Club members. Faculty, staff, and part-time students can join by signing up as an R-Club member for $22 each month.
