New single-cell and spatial capabilities seminar

The Genomics Resource Center has acquired two new 10x genomics single-cell and spatial instruments and will showcase their capabilities at an in-person seminar at noon today, June 21. The event will also kick off the Medical Center’s Xenium Core Lab Grant Award. The winner of this award will receive a zero-cost Xenium In Situ project. Register here to attend.

Retirement program webinar

Get an overview of the University’s 403(b) retirement program, learn how to create a retirement strategy, update your account with TIAA, and utilize the tools provided by TIAA in a live webinar on Monday, July 1, from noon to 1 p.m. Reserve your spot.

Financial Health Bites seminar on college education strategies

The Office of Total Rewards hosts a seminar on Wednesday, July 10, at noon for an overview of fundamental strategies to help employees financially prepare for higher education. A representative from Securian Financial will conduct this seminar. Register online to reserve your spot.

Installation from Wendy Red Star at MAG

On exhibit now through December 1 at the Memorial Art Gallery is Bi’ nneete (No Water), an installation featuring 30 original drawings made by Wendy Red Star (Apsáalooke (Crow)) to form a “corral” of horses, which hold significance in the Northern Plains Native history and cultures. Red Star sketched each horse from historical ledger drawings (narrative drawings) found in museums and archives across the United States. Learn more and plan your visit here.

‘Commit to Quit!’ smoking or vaping

Any reduction in smoking or vaping is beneficial to your health and can be an important step in the quit journey. The next Commit to Quit! group program, offered virtually by the Center for Community Health & Prevention, kicks off at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 11. Learn more about the free, six-session series and register today.

Suicide prevention training in rural communities

Join the UR Medicine Recovery Center of Excellence throughout the summer in partnership with SafeSide Prevention for a free workshop training series focused on suicide prevention training for service providers in rural communities. Register here.
