School of Arts & Sciences Dean Nicole Sampson named interim provost

Nicole Sampson has been appointed interim University provost. Sampson, who has served as the Robert L. and Mary L. Sproull Dean of the School of Arts & Sciences since August 2023, will assume her new interim responsibilities on August 1, when Provost David Figlio steps down. Duje Tadin, chair of the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, has been named interim dean of the School of Arts & Sciences.

Flags will be lowered for Paul Griner

University flags on the Eastman Quadrangle and near the entrance of Strong Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department will be lowered on Thursday, July 18, for University Life Trustee Paul Griner, who died on June 24. Griner was a professor emeritus of medicine at the School of Medicine and Dentistry and former chief executive officer for Strong Memorial Hospital.
