In its continued efforts to streamline the end-user experience and increase consistency across University applications and services, the University is moving toward using a single authentication technology. Currently, faculty, staff, and students use either NetID credentials (e.g., HRMS) or Active Directory (AD) credentials (e.g., Workday, Blackboard, Wireless) to gain access to systems and applications. Over the past year, many applications and systems have transitioned from NetID to AD for authentication and authorization.
On July 17, University users logging into Box will be required to use their Active Directory username and password rather than their NetID. While most faculty, staff, and students already have the same (synched) username for their NetID and AD credentials, some do not. For those who do not, visit myidentity.rochester.edu to view your accounts. The only change URMC Box users will see is a change in the login page.
As part of this migration, you will be prompted to authenticate your login with Duo when connecting to Box remotely. Box folders and files shared with individuals outside of the University or URMC will require two-factor authentication on their Box account before they can access the shared data. Learn more about this change.
Take 20 minutes to complete your online health surveys and then complete your personal health assessment by making an appointment for a biometric screening. You’ll meet one-on-one with a nurse and discuss options to improve your health—some resources include even more incentives. Contact Well-U with questions or start your surveys now.

A newly completed renovation has made the Howard Hanson Recital Hall one of the most state-of-the-art locations on the Eastman School of Music campus, including the installation of a smart control panel and versatile lighting options. It also houses self-recording audio and video equipment for student use, including two 4K cameras, a high-quality hanging stereo microphone, and next-day access to the recordings. Learn more about what’s new and find more photos on the Eastman School’s Instagram.
