Financial Aid Documents Due September 4

All outstanding financial aid documents are due by Friday, September 4. Review the list of required documents in FAOnline. If your required documents are not received by September 4, any financial aid that has not been disbursed will be removed from your account until the Financial Aid Office has received the outstanding documents. Contact your financial aid counselor if you have any questions.

Financial Aid staff continue to work remotely and are not available for in-person appointments. Schedule phone or Zoom video conferences with your counselor via the Calendly scheduling platform or reach out via email. See details.

Online and In-Person Course Locations

The first day of classes is Wednesday, August 26. While some fall 2020 classes are being offered entirely online, other course sections may have an in-person component—albeit in-person components will also have an online equivalent for students studying remotely.

Please refer to UR Student, as well as course syllabi in Blackboard, for the location of in-person course components. For online course sections, students should disregard the online room information in UR Student, and refer only to course syllabi and communications from the instructor.

Get Course Materials through the Bookstore Website

Barnes & Noble in College Town is open for business and ready for the back-to-school season. With limited hours of operation, reduced access to some areas, restricted customer capacity, and counter service only for textbooks, you are strongly encouraged to shop for your course materials, school supplies, and spirit items online at urochester.bncollege.com. Standard domestic shipping via UPS is free, as is delivery to the Campus Mail Center. Contactless curbside pickup is now also available during store hours.

Rocky's Top 10 Things to Do While Protecting the Hive

Rocky and Wilson Commons Student Activities have curated a list of activities you can enjoy while staying distanced.

Celebrate the Start of the Academic Year at Yellowjacket Weekend

Kick off the academic year with the first Rochester Tradition of the semester, Yellowjacket Weekend! Join Wilson Commons Student Activities August 27–30 for yoga on the quad, an outdoor and drive-in movie, virtual trivia night, online Esports gaming tournament, giveaways, and more. The signature event will be a virtual concert featuring Jason Derulo with live Q&A and on-campus watch parties. From picnics in the park to virtual bingo, there will be plenty of opportunities to connect with the community on campus and remotely. Registration, which opens at 6 p.m. today on CCC, is required to access events. Events will follow approved University, state, and federal guidelines to ensure the safety of all Yellowjackets.

As part of Yellowjacket Weekend, students can explore their passions and get involved by attending the virtual activities fair on CCC August 28–30. This reimagined Rochester Tradition enables students to learn about and interact with members of over 280 student organizations. Undergraduates will be able to visit virtual booths and chat with student leaders, watch videos, and explore opportunities to engage.
