What to Expect for the Spring Semester on Campus

This past November, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that much of Monroe County—including all of the University’s campuses, with the exception of the Laboratory for Laser Energetics and other properties south of East River Road—was in an Orange Zone, which is a set of New York State precautionary restrictions aimed at reducing the spread COVID-19. As the spring semester begins, many of these Orange Zone restrictions remain, with the exception of dining, which includes a little more flexibility with regard to the options available to students. Learn more about what to expect on campus this spring.

Financial Aid Documents Due February 5

All outstanding financial aid documents for the spring 2021 semester are due by Friday, February 5. Students can review the list of their spring 2021 requirements by logging into their FAOnline account, selecting the 2020–21 academic year from the dropdown, and visiting the “Required Documents” page. If a student’s required documents have not been received after February 5, any financial aid that has not been disbursed will be removed from their account until the Financial Aid Office has received the outstanding documents. Students are encouraged to contact their financial aid counselor if they have any questions about what they need to submit.

Get Course Materials, Supplies through Bookstore Website

Barnes and Noble at College Town is open for business and ready for the back-to-school season. With limited hours of operation, reduced access to some areas, restricted customer capacity, and counter service only for textbooks, you are strongly encouraged to shop for your course materials, school supplies, and spirit items online at urochester.bncollege.com. Shipments can be sent to residential addresses via UPS, and free delivery is offered to the Campus Mail Center. Contactless curbside pickup is now also available during store hours.

The store is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, January 30, it will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Share Your Experience

Students are encouraged to complete the brief Student Support Services survey if they have not already done so. The purpose of this survey is to collect student feedback about your experience with learning conditions during the fall 2020 semester at the University. We’re interested to hear how your learning conditions impacted your wellbeing. This information will be used to evaluate programming needs and outreach education during the spring 2021 semester. The survey may be completed here.
