Stay Vigilant After Receiving Partial or Full Vaccination

With so many in the community now partially vaccinated, remember that full immunity doesn’t occur until two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, and two weeks after the one necessary dose for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. A number of University students have tested positive for COVID-19 in the weeks between doses and in the two weeks after the final dose.

Everyone needs to continue to stay masked and adhere to current protocols. For the health and safety of everyone, this is an extra reminder that the virus is still easily transmissible on campus and students should not take on any additional risk of being exposed to infection until the vaccine has time to take full effect, especially with final exams coming up.
