Upcoming drop/add and withdrawal deadlinesUniversity leaders launch five-point plan for public safetyTo enhance campus safety and ensure inclusive, fair, and equitable security practices across the institution, the University engaged an outside consulting firm in 2022 to provide a comprehensive review of the Department of Public Safety and campus safety security policies and practices. The firm found that the University “benefits from a dedicated and committed public safety staff” and identified opportunities to strengthen certain areas. In response, senior leadership developed a five-point plan to address the firm’s top recommendations and establish a framework for continuous improvement. Learn more about the plan.
TapRide app no longer available after September 30The TapRide app will no longer be used as the University’s method for requesting on-demand rides through the Safe Ride system after September 30. A new ride app, which integrates with a new GPS app for the University shuttle system, will launch soon. After September 30 and until the new app launches, students should call the Safe Ride dispatcher number (585) 276-RIDE (7433) to request a ride. Students will request a ride through the dispatcher and the dispatcher will relay the ride information to the driver. Safe Ride runs from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. every day during the academic year (except for breaks and University holidays) to provide safe and reliable transportation for undergraduate students.
