UHS online appointments, reminders on staying healthy

Student patients of University Health Service (UHS) can schedule non-urgent appointments online using UHS Connect for several types of visits, including appointments with primary care and initial assessments with counseling. Online scheduling can be completed at any hour of the day using a computer or smartphone and should only be used for non-urgent, non-emergency health issues. For more information, review UHS’s new online scheduling video.

UHS offers other important health reminders for students:

  • Face masks: Anyone who prefers to wear a mask is encouraged to do so. If you learn that you have been exposed to COVID-19, you should start wearing a mask immediately. Students needing a face mask can pick one up at the UHS offices; they are available 24/7 in the outer lobby of the UHS building on River Campus, and also available outside the UHS Office at the Eastman School Student Living Center when the office is closed. Reminder: face masks are strongly encouraged inside the UHS building, and any patient entering UHS with upper respiratory symptoms should wear a mask.
  • COVID-19 tests, vaccine booster clinic: Rapid COVID-19 test kits are available to students 24/7 at no cost in the vending machine located in the outer lobby of the UHS River Campus location, or by calling the UHS office at (585) 275-2662. Test kits are also available during office hours at the Eastman School of Music UHS office. Information about a possible COVID-19 booster clinic will be posted when available.
  • Flu vaccine clinic: UHS will host a flu shot clinic on Thursday, October 12, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on River Campus at the Goergen Athletic Center, located across from Fauver Stadium. Appointments are available through UHS Connect. Please complete the Influenza (Flu) Vaccine Consent Form 2023 and bring it to your appointment. For students under 18, the consent form must be signed by a parent or guardian. The flu vaccine is covered in full for all active members of the University’s student health insurance plan (Aetna) and is generally covered in full by most private insurance plans.
  • Staying healthy: Wash your hands often with soap and water and get plenty of rest.
