Fall housing information, important dates, and lottery instructions

While there’s a lot of information about fall housing and important dates, most of it can be found online. You can find information on the StarRez website, which includes important deadlines, policies, and how room selection works; tips and strategies for getting into your preferred room assignment based on class year; and more. Those who need to find a roommate will be able to do so as part of the lottery process or can choose from several one-person options. If you experience difficulties after reading the website, email housingassignments@reslife.rochester.edu for assistance.

Students who have submitted housing applications will receive step-by-step instructions via email on April 11 for the housing lottery. You will receive your assigned lottery day and time on April 12 via email and in the StarRez portal. The lottery dates are assigned by class year, with rising seniors picking first, then rising juniors, and then rising sophomores. The selection time is randomized within the class year. More information can be found on the StarRez website.
