UR Medicine to begin COVID-19 antibody testing

UR Medicine will begin testing blood samples for antibodies to the coronavirus on Monday, June 1.

In order to get tested, patients will need a testing order from a provider. Patients that qualify for testing have either:

  • Had symptoms of COVID-19 previously but did not have a test to learn if they were infected
  • Fully recovered from the novel coronavirus and would like to donate plasma
  • Been diagnosed or are currently being treated for Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome of Children (MIS-C)

Faculty and staff of URMC and UR Medicine can also receive antibody tests at no charge to determine if they have previously been exposed to the virus.
