With many University buildings being locked/restricted to reduce on-campus populations, the following guidance provides details on receiving mail and deliveries until further notice:

Regular mail (United States Postal Service)

Unless otherwise directed, regular USPS mail (envelops, packages) delivered to River Campus departments, College Town, and other offsite buildings such as Brooks Landing and Corporate Woods, will be held at the University Mail Services (UMS) central facility located at 1510 Mt. Hope Avenue (just south of College Town, near Dunkin Donuts), where department representatives can collect their mail

Please call ahead to pick-up at (585) 275-1013. Ideally, departments should give UMS a tentative schedule of when they will be picking up their mail during the week.

  • Hours to pick up mail: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday- Friday
  • Phone: (585) 275-1013 (main number) / (585) 275-5208 (alternate number)
  • Email: UMS-ADMIS@facilities.rochester.edu
  • Barriers will be in place to practice social distancing

Packages/parcel deliveries from carriers such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, Amazon, etc.

This applies to package deliveries that cannot be canceled or re-routed before arriving to its destination. Parcels will be held at the UMS central facility located (1510 Mt. Hope Avenue) with the exception of deliveries for River Campus academic departments. Please see below for River Campus academic departments.

Departments should email or call Mail Services when a package is expected and whenever possible, provide tracking information and department contact information. Critical deliveries should be communicated ASAP, and perishable items should not be sent to Mail Services. Departments should place signage on their buildings to reroute carriers to the UMS central mail facility located at 1510 Mt. Hope Avenue.
