COVID self-test kits being distributed to students

The University is providing each full-time undergraduate and graduate student who is part of the Student Health Program with a COVID self-test kit to use when they wish. Each kit comes with two tests.

If a student takes the test over the course of the semester and has a positive result, they should use Dr. Chat Bot to report their result to University Health Service (UHS).

If a student is picking up a test kit in person, they should bring their UR ID.

The distribution plan is as follows:

Arts, Sciences, and Engineering (Undergraduate): test kits for students with a CMC box will be placed in their mailboxes in the River Campus Mail Center; for students who do not have a CMC box, test kits can be picked up at the Common Connection in Wilson Commons.

Arts, Sciences, and Engineering (Graduate): The pick-up location is GEPA, 206 Lattimore Hall, Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Eastman School of Music: for on-campus students, test kits will be placed in their mailboxes; for off-campus students test kits can be picked up Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the front desk of the Student Living Center.

Simon Business School:  on-campus test distribution will be via mailboxes; off-campus students can pick up their test kits in the Office of Student Engagement in Schlegel Hall.

Warner School of Education: pick up is at LeChase Hall, Student Services reception desk, room 247, from Monday, January 31 through Thursday, February 3, noon to 7:30 p.m.

School of Medicine and Dentistry:

  • Medical students can receive kits through the hospital program.
  • Graduate students: the pickup location is the Medical Center UHS office, room 1-5077

School of Nursing: the pick-up location is the Student Affairs Office, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All full-time students pay a mandatory health fee that entitles them to use UHS services and the University Counseling Center (UCC) throughout the academic year, and the test kits are a service of this program.

If additional self-test kits become available throughout the semester, the details will be announced.
