URDU Travels to University of Vermont for the Huber Debates

November 2, 2014

This weekend the URDU traveled to the Green Mountains to compete in the Huber Debates at the University of Vermont.

We brought a huge contingent of many new debaters who debated in both formats, with some big success in each: Chris Perkins and Miriam Kohn finished as Quarterfinalists in the varsity division of Worlds, while first year students Ben Frazer and Graeme McGuire finished as finalists in the Worlds novice division!

First-time debaters Anna Li and Sarah Pisaniello finished as Quarterfinalists in the Policy novice division, and Bethany Gardner was recognized for her outstanding speaking when she received the award for 7th speaker in novice.

We are happy to have continued our long tradition of having a formidable novice squad and we’re very proud of how far our varsity debaters have come! The URDU is now looking forward to our trip to Morgantown, West Virginia to debate at West Virginia University in two weeks!
