Debate Closes Fall Semester at Wake and West Virginia

November 24, 2014

This past weekend the URDU traveled to North Carolina to the Wake Forest Debate Tournament, and to West Virginia to the WVU Debate Tournament. These were the last tournaments of the fall semester, and we had success at both.

At West Virginia University the URDU had big novice success. After finishing pre-elimination rounds as the 2nd seed, Nick Heitsch and Graeme McGuire finished in the top four teams out of almost 100, and Nick was recognized as the 6th speaker out of almost 100 debaters.

At the extremely competitive Wake Forest tournament Emoni Tedder, a sophomore, and Tobi Abubakare, a junior, finished 4-4. Having debated some of the best teams in the country, they are now well prepared for the intense debates they have coming up over the next couple of months.

The URDU goes onward and upward to some intense debating in 2015!
