Strong Year End Finishes For URDU at CEDA Nationals

The policy debate crew had an excellent run at the University of Puget Sound’s CEDA Nationals Championship tournament. We brought one novice team and one varsity team, and both had big successes.

Our Novice team, made up of Vitumbiko Kambilonje and Charles Fleurisca-Voltime, finished as one of the top Novice teams at the tournament, achieving enough wins at this Varsity competition to reach the Novice break-out final round. They got the great honor of debating on the final elimination round day of the tournament. Although they lost in a close debate, they are already excited about preparing for next season.

On the Varsity front, our team of Ben Morbeck and twin brother Gabe (at Emory University) reached elimination rounds at this exclusive and competitive tournament for the first time in several years. We are proud of their accomplishment, and look forward to big things from Ben in his next two remaining debate seasons!
