Portrait of Marisa WilsonMarisa Wilson, the Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Constituent Engagement, has been a dynamic member of the University of Rochester family for seven years. Along with her current role at Advancement, she’s held positions in the Office of the President and the Office of the Provost. Wilson has lent her many talents to the Emerging Leaders as a member of the board since 2019. She describes herself as reliable, energetic, and open-minded, which are essential qualities for success in her current role.

For Wilson, it’s all about people. She finds her current position in Alumni Relations and Constituent Engagement especially rewarding because “getting to know Rochester alumni and their stories is truly a gift.” Wilson never knows what stories she’ll hear: One day, she might have the opportunity to talk to an alumnus who was on campus during World War II, and the next day she’s chatting with alumni who graduated just last year.

Wilson also enjoys helping forge valuable connections between alumni, especially those looking for new job opportunities or relocating. “It’s great to see University of Rochester alumni support each other as a community.”

Anyone that’s worked with Wilson knows that she’s a doer: she has a keen ability to assess what needs to be done and then make it happen with the help of her team. When asked about her motivation, Wilson says, “Nothing feels better than completing a task, whether it takes a day, a month, a year, or longer!”
