A: 0.2% (one-fifth of one percent) of the LTIP.

Q: Does the LTIP have any investments in Technion?

A: No.

 

Q: Does the LTIP have exposure to any of the following companies, which have been flagged for potential concern in some of the comments received or related discussion, due to dealings in Israel that may be connected to activities involving military operations or occupation (as through supplying military hardware, surveillance technologies, or equipment used in housing demolitions or construction in occupied territories that is in violation of international law):

A: The LTIP exposure amounts to less than $259,000 in total to eight of the fifteen companies.  These are mostly held in bond managers’ pooled funds.  The EIAC asked the Investment Office to draft a letter to the LTIP investment managers who are invested in those eight companies, expressing the EIAC’s concerns about their ties to Israel and its desire to eliminate exposure to them. The letter was drafted by the Investment Office, in collaboration with EIAC Chairperson FitzPatrick, then sent to the relevant investment managers.

 

Q: In your research on peer institutions, have you happened to come across mentions of other companies of concern?

A: No.

 

Q: Have the nine other universities in UR’s close peer group (seven UAA schools plus Cornell and Johns Hopkins) established policies regarding Israeli investments?

A: No such policies could be found at this time.
