Meliora! Remarks from our Annual Giving Chair
This spring, the next generation of leaders graduated from the University. The Class of 2021 is driven, talented–and as this last year has proved–incredibly resilient. Thanks to your generosity, they have persevered and can look forward to a bright future.
In May, the University held its annual Day of Giving, and I’m pleased to report that the George Eastman Circle played an important role with 10% of our membership participating. Overall, nearly 3,000 donors contributed more than $2.5 million to funds across the University and Medical Center.
As we are now in June, which marks the close of the University’s fiscal year, I want to remind you that if you have not yet made your annual membership payment, or renewed your membership, please take a moment to do so, by clicking here. I also encourage you to consider participating in the Women’s Network Challenge, which I am spearheading along with Gail Lione ’71. Your gift, regardless of where you direct it, will also count toward the Together for Rochester campaign.

Day of Giving: Thank you
On May 5, the entire University of Rochester community came together to make a difference on our 2021 Day of Giving. Together, more than 2,990 donors made charitable contributions—including nearly 400 George Eastman Circle members who participated by renewing their commitment, making a pledge payment or an additional gift on the Day. President Mangelsdorf is saying thank you with a special message.
Celebration of Support
On Wednesday, April 21, the University of Rochester presented the George Eastman Circle Celebration of Support featuring Eric J. Topol ’79M (MD), the Director and Founder of Scripps Research Translational Institute. We invite you to watch the recording of this enlightening event during which Dr. Topol explains the potential artificial intelligence has to transform the future of medicine.
Together for Rochester: Make a Gift
As the 2020-21 academic year comes to a close, there is still time to make a charitable contribution to any area of the University you care most about. Your gift–of any amount–will be put to work immediately and will also be counted toward the Together for Rochester campaign.
International alumni census
The University of Rochester recently launched its International alumni census. If you live outside of the United States, please consider participating today. The results will help the University gain a better understanding of our alumni community so that we can create more meaningful programs that best represent alumni interests globally. All questions in the census are optional.
