The University of Rochester is excited to introduce UR Stars – a new, university-wide, best-in-class recognition platform designed to reinforce our culture of appreciation and strengthen our shared values as “One University.” Launching in June, UR Stars incorporates modern recognition best practices as well as builds on existing recognition programs across the University.
UR Stars features the following:
- User-friendly digital platform and mobile app that makes it easy to show appreciation.
- Alignment with Meliora and ICARE values
- Ability to recognize any faculty or staff member.
- Visible recognition and team dashboards
- Seamless sending of everyday recognition.
Through the system, all faculty and staff will be able to send UR Stars Recognition to express gratitude to everyone who makes us ever better by living our values, celebrate the big and small moments where our teams shine, recognize and thank faculty and staff who promote belonging, equity, and diversity or give a shout out to those who aren’t afraid to go big in helping to shape our future.
They can also send Everyday Celebrations eCards to recognize career milestones or advancements, service and educational or professional development milestones.
UR Stars Training and Launch Dates
UR Stars will launch on June 10. To help you become familiar with UR Stars before its launch, we will be offering live demos of the UR Stars platform. Registration for those events is available on the University of Rochester Calendar.
Additionally, on May 29 we will make training resources available including short how-to videos, FAQs, recognition best practices, and dates for live instructional sessions. Keep an eye out for an email with a link to these important resources and dates.
Finally, each department has been assigned a UR Stars Recognition Champion who is available to help you engage in recognition, including navigating the UR Stars platform and identifying opportunities to recognize everyone who helps us reach our full potential. Your UR Stars Recognition Champion will reach out to your department independently.
