Participant requirements
Career Navigation Service
Career Navigation Service, led by our internal Career Coach, will help you to identify the best career path and work environment for you based on a career assessment and personality assessment.
This four-part program helps incumbent employees assess their own personal strengths and interests, identify possible career pathways in high-demand positions, obtain some of the skills necessary to advance within the organization (resume writing, interviewing, internal job searching), and create an individualized career action plan.
Frontline Fundamentals Certificate Training Program
Frontline Fundamentals are training classes to help employees in the UR Career Pathways program prepare for success in their new role. They include the following topics:
- Five-Star Customer Service in Healthcare
- Workplace Expectations in Healthcare
- Keyboarding Skills (optional with a demonstrated 35 wpm skill level)
- Medical Terminology (as required)
You will complete a competency assessment at the end of each class to receive corresponding certificates of completion.
UR Career Passport
The UR Career Passport is provided to each participant and will be completed and returned at the end of the participant’s career navigation journey, indicating successful completion of all program requirements.
Benefits
Enhanced tuition
For positions that require a formal degree or certification from an external provider:
- Tuition costs will be covered at 100% with no out-of-pocket expense for participants in an approved program
- Tuition fees will be paid directly to the partnering educational institution on your behalf
Important note: This also includes any books and fees required for the educational program.

While participating in URCP, it is important to understand that:
- Approval for the Program does not guarantee a new position or promotion as a result of completing the Program.
- Approval for admission into the Program does not guarantee admission into any required educational programs. You remain responsible for admission into any such programs for which you may be approved under the Program.
- If employment ends (voluntarily or involuntarily), eligibility for participation in the Program and any University sponsorship for external education will end.
- Additional requirements for participation in the Program may apply if you participate in tuition-based programming.
- Active employment in an eligible status, full-time preferred, must be maintained through completion of the program.
