Department Resources for URcompass

Log into URcompass

ISO is committed to providing you with the best possible service, so we’re continuing to develop new tools and functionality for the URcompass client portal. We’ve partnered with our academic and administrative teams to create these resources, where you’ll find additional training materials and resources to help you use the system effectively.

Student Processing

New Student Intake Forms (NSIF) for 2024–25

ISO’s electronic New Student Intake Forms (NSIF) play a crucial role in determining eligibility for University immigration sponsorship among international students. The process begins with the University of Rochester Department providing basic academic and funding information. Then, the student receives an invitation to submit their required details.

Once the NSIF is complete, ISO will review if for eligibility, request additional information if necessary, and ultimately issue the requested immigration document. The electronic NSIF tool promotes accuracy, efficiency, and empowers students to manage their status with ISO.

Here are some resources to help University Departments navigate and facilitate the NSIF process:

  • NSIF Department Checklist: Summary and requirements (PDF) of the overall coordination, prerequisite systems configurations, University Department forms, and system-driven communications.
  • NSIF Training for University Admission and Academic Partners (March 8, 2023): Presentation materials from ISO’s meeting for departmental users, including the video recording and presentation slides (PDF).
  • Optional Forms – NSIF Cancellation (Department Form 5) and Adjusted Arrival Info (Department Form 6): Forms to update ISO about changes to intended study. Please note: If new dates are known before a document is issued, form access is restricted; please contact ISO about unlocking the academic program form directly.
Continuous students e-forms

In the past, departments uploaded OPT and CPT request forms in PDF format on behalf of their students in URcompass (via the Document Upload e-form). While the Document Upload e-form remains in place for other types of requests, CPT and OPT requests are now separate e-forms and will require that students submit their requests in URcompass.

For more information about the changes in processes which may require your participation, please see the ISO’s Academic Contact Guide to URcompass E-Forms.

This ISO Informational Session recording also provides an overview of the new e-form requests.
