Application Turnover - Responsibilities and Procedures

Responsibilities::

Production Control is responsible for reviewing and approving the completed turnover documentation. Production Control is also responsible for, or assigns responsibility for, the actual turnover of any modules into the production environments.

The application development staff is responsible for the development of coding and procedures, any walkthroughs of the application components, thorough testing, and the creation of all the required documentation, including the appropriate rerun / restart capabilities.

The business user is responsible for the comprehensive review of batch test results, online screen changes, overall schedule negotiations, communicating report distribution needs, and determining retention criteria for all media involved.

Procedures

Application "turnover to production" review is scheduled in advance of promoting new or changed programs, modules, procedures or products to production allowing sufficient time for:

• Thorough review
• Scheduling and notification
• Changes to procedures
• Additional testing
• Set-up/change in production software tools
• Implementation
