University monitoring snow accumulations

The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Storm Warning in the Rochester area for tonight and tomorrow (Monday, Nov. 21). The University is closely monitoring the situation.

In general, the University will remain in operation and will continue regular activities, classes, and services as scheduled. Faculty, staff and students should allow for extra travel time for Monday morning’s commute.

In the event this storm does impact the operating schedules of the University or any of its individual schools or units, information will be distributed through University Communications by email, the University Information Line (585-275-6111) and can be found on the homepage (http://rochester.edu). For updates on the status of individual classes, students should check for email or Blackboard announcements.

If there is a change to the University’s operations, all essential staff should report to work unless otherwise notified.  Additionally, Medical Center employees—whether at Elmwood Avenue or any off-site location—are considered essential staff and are required to report even during severe weather. If you are unable to report to work or unsure of your status, you must contact your supervisor.

For emergency assistance on campus, call #413 from a Verizon or AT&T cell phone; 585-275-3333 from any phone; or call 911.
