Nineteen University students are semifinalists for the 2017-18 Fulbright U.S. Student Grant program.
The competition is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and is designed to promote mutual understanding and peace between the United States and other nations through educational and cultural exchange. It offers college graduates the chance to pursue advanced studies, conduct research, and teach English language and U.S. culture abroad.
Forty undergraduates, graduate students, and recent alumni applied for the Fulbright last fall through the River Campus and Eastman School of Music Fulbright committees.
Final winners will be announced over the next several weeks by country.
