Sudarshan Jayaraman appointed Wesray Professor of Business Administration

Sudarshan Jayaraman, a professor of business administration, has been appointed as the Wesray Professor of Business Administration, effective July 1.

Jayaraman’s research interests are in corporate governance and the effects of accounting information in financial markets. His work on corporate governance examines how large shareholders discipline managers via the threat of exit, and the role that stock market liquidity plays in the design of executive compensation contracts.

His research has appeared in the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, among other publications. Jayaraman’s work has been presented at academic conferences around the world and at regulatory bodies such as the European Central Bank and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Jayaraman earned his MBA from Bentley College in 2001 and his PhD in accounting in 2007 from UNC Chapel Hill.
