Brass Choir presents ‘Spooktacular VI – Things that Go Bump in the Night’

WHAT: The 40-member Brass Choir will present its sixth annual Halloween concert, “Spooktacular VI – Things That Go Bump in the Night,” a night of rock, dance, and pop music re-purposed for brass instruments. The performance will feature works by Bruno Mars, Avicii, Queen, and Blue Oyster Cult and feature guest musicians from the Rochester community in a supersized low brass ensemble. Costumes are optional; the audience will be treated to special effects and a party atmosphere worthy of the Halloween season.

TIME, DATE, PLACE: 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in Strong Auditorium on the University of Rochester’s River Campus. The concert is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required.

ABOUT THE BRASS CHOIR: Celebrating its seventh year, the UR Brass Choir, under founder and director Josef Hanson, is made up of undergraduate and graduate students as well as alumni. The ensemble has performed in a variety of venues, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
