Bruce Bashwiner, associate vice president for Facilities and Services since 2014, has been named senior associate vice president, effective July 1.

Facilities and Services encompasses the River Campus, Medical Center, Eastman School of Music, the Memorial Art Gallery and other properties totaling more than 12 million gross square feet of the University’s multi-site campus. Its units include Planning & Project Management; Central Utilities and Energy Management; Environmental Services; Mail Services; Facilities Operations; Support Operations, including  landscaping, snow removal, and general maintenance; and Transportation and Parking Management.

“For the past three years, Bruce has led transformative construction and renovation projects on several of our campuses, and has done so with astute planning and budget expertise, as well as effective management of complex infrastructure, construction and sustainability challenges,” said Holly Crawford, senior vice president for administration and finance and CFO. “He is also a very effective leader of the Facilities and Services units that keep our research university—including our hospitals and Medical Center services—operating safely, smoothly and efficiently every day of the year. We are fortunate to have Bruce as a member of the University’s senior leadership team, and I look forward to continuing to work with him in the years to come.”

Bashwiner came to Rochester with more than 20 years of experience in academic, health care and corporate facilities and infrastructure management. He joined the University from Einstein Healthcare Network (EHN), a private, not-for-profit health care system with five primary campuses and multiple outpatient centers. He served as network vice president of facilities and services at EHN in Philadelphia, with responsibilities for 5.5 million square-feet of facilities and more than 800 employees.
