Increased access to parking lots and additional shuttle stops will ensure greater convenience and safety for University community members, especially students who live off campus.

The Willow Center’s Purple Box campaign launches this time each year in recognition of national Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Catherine Cerulli, director of the Susan B. Anthony Center and the Laboratory of Interpersonal Violence and Victimization, was honored by the YWCA. She has worked on issues surrounding domestic violence and child abuse for more than 25 years.

Elizabeth Milavec will serve as the primary administrative officer responsible for planning, developing, directing and maintaining the University’s systems of accounting, financial reporting and financial internal controls.

Hajim was University Board chairman from 2008 to 2016, and has served the University in many capacities for nearly 60 years. The new bronze statue of Hajim was created this year by internationally renowned sculptor Marc Mellon, who in 2009 also made the George Eastman statue on the Eastman Quad.

Mary Ann Mavrinac, vice provost and Andrew H. and Janet Dayton Neilly dean of River Campus Libraries, will serve as the next president of the organization, representing leading academic libraries in North America.

Briggs, who celebrated her 50th anniversary with River Campus Libraries last September, has served as the head of River Campus Libraries’ acquisition department, helping students, faculty, and staff access appropriate scholarly resources that support teaching and research.

Thousands of alumni, parents, community members, and friends were on campus from October 6-9 for the annual Meliora Weekend celebrations. The weekend blends reunions, homecoming, family activities, performances, lectures, and community celebrations, offering something exciting for everyone.  This year the experience celebrated the success of The Meliora Challenge: The Campaign for the University of Rochester.

Evans Lam Square, a new state-of-the-art learning and research space in Rush Rhees Library, will function as a place for innovative and collaborative programs that will bring the library to the 21st century.

Bradley Nilsson, associate professor of chemistry; Amy Lerner, associate professor of biomedical engineering; and Beth Jörgensen, professor of Spanish, are the recipients of the 2016 Goergen Awards for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching.

Established in 2013 and named for the vice president and senior advisor to the president, the Burgett Center promotes cultural awareness and engagement, and educates on issues of identity, culture, and diversity.

The vice provost and dean of college admission, was presented with the Inclusion, Access and Success award by the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC).
