Sharon Briggs receives Messinger award for library service

Briggs, who celebrated her 50th anniversary with River Campus Libraries last September, has served as the head of River Campus Libraries’ acquisition department, helping students, faculty, and staff access appropriate scholarly resources that support teaching and research.

Meliora Weekend 2016 ‘Better Than Ever’

Thousands of alumni, parents, community members, and friends were on campus from October 6-9 for the annual Meliora Weekend celebrations. The weekend blends reunions, homecoming, family activities, performances, lectures, and community celebrations, offering something exciting for everyone.  This year the experience celebrated the success of The Meliora Challenge: The Campaign for the University of Rochester.

Public Safety team to ‘Walk a Mile’ for domestic violence awareness

The annual event where many participants wear high heels and fun shoes during a one-mile walk around Ontario Beach Park benefits the Willow Domestic Violence Center. The “Walk A Mile in My Shoes” event coincides with Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October.

Think Safe report now online

The University’s annual security and fire safety compliance document, Think Safe, is available on the Department of Public Safety’s website. Think Safe contains crime statistics for crimes reported on campus for the three previous calendar years.
