Milavec, who has been with the University since 2016, begins her interim role on November 6.

University of Rochester President Sarah C. Mangelsdorf announced today that Elizabeth Milavec, who currently serves as the University’s senior associate vice president for finance, has been appointed interim senior vice president for administration and finance, chief financial officer, and treasurer, replacing Holly Crawford, who will be joining the UT Southwestern Medical Center later this month. Michael Andrews, who recently retired as senior associate vice president for budgets and planning, will return to the University on an interim basis as Milavec’s deputy and chief of staff while a national search is conducted for the senior vice president position. In addition, a new associate vice president for budgets and planning will be hired soon.

“Liz is the ideal person to serve in this role,” remarked Mangelsdorf. “She understands the University well and is respected as a creative and astute leader with a deep understanding of our institutional financial systems and processes. Having served as Holly Crawford’s deputy, she also knows the function and scope of the job very well. I’m looking forward to working with her and the rest of our outstanding finance and administration teams, and I’m grateful to Mike Andrews for agreeing to come out of retirement to assist us during this transitionary time.”

In addition to finance, budgeting, and planning, Milavec will oversee the facilities and services; environmental health and safety and fire marshal; purchasing and supply chain; audit; and treasury operations and compliance functions. She will work closely with finance and administration leaders in schools and units across the University.

On an interim basis, supervisory authority for public safety and for campus dining services and auxiliary operations will move to the Office of the Provost, reporting directly to Interim Provost Sarah Peyre. Peyre will also oversee the evolving composition and role of the Public Safety Review Board.
