PARKING: Media and others should stop at the information booth near the Elmwood Avenue entrance to receive a parking pass and directions on where to park.

BACKGROUND: Dr. James Hansen was trained in physics and astronomy in the space science program of Dr. James Van Allen at the University of Iowa. He has received numerous awards, including Carl-Gustaf Rossby and Roger Revelle Research Medals, the Sophie Prize, the Blue Planet Prize, and the NASA Distinguished Service Medal. Dr. Hansen was designated by Time Magazine in 2006 as one of the world’s 100 most influential people. He has done extensive research in the field of climatology and has given testimony to congressional committees on climate change.
