Statement from President Seligman regarding New York State’s approval of its START-UP NY plan

On Tuesday, the New York State START-UP NY program board approved the University of Rochester’s plan to designate 105,894 square feet of tax free space at High Tech Rochester’s Lennox Tech Center and buildings 59 and 320 in Eastman Business Park.

“I want to thank members of the New York State START-UP NY Approval Board, Majority Leader Joe Morelle, Senator Joe Robach, Senator Mike Ranzenhofer, and Senator Patrick Gallivan for their tireless support and leadership throughout this process. I particularly want to thank Governor Andrew Cuomo for his vision in creating this initiative which will help our region attract new companies, create new jobs, enhance technology commercialization, and revitalize the Upstate economy.  By conferring the program’s tax benefits to the region’s highest economic development priority and its primary technology business incubator, this designation will strengthen our innovation ecosystem, catalyze new growth, and further accelerate the region’s economic revival.”
