Bike Share

HOP around with Rochester’s bike share program! The Department of Transportation and Parking partners with RTS and the City of Rochester’s bike share program to help provide students and staff with an easy, affordable and healthy way to get where they need to go.  The system is owned, operated, and maintained by HOPR, a national provider, and offers a fleet of pedal bikes throughout the City of Rochester and surrounding areas.

On the Medical Center campus, there are three bike share rental areas and electric scooter dismount zones. They are located at the School of Medicine & Dentistry, the Eastman Dental Center bus stop, and the Mental Health & Wellness bus stop. River Campus has two bike stations located at Meliora Hall and on Faculty Road.

The blue HOPR bikes may be rented through a smartphone application. HOPR offers pay-as-you-go options, as well as single-day and monthly passes. For riders using pay-as-you-go, the cost is $1 to unlock a bike and 15 cents per minute of riding.
