In accordance with New York State law, eligible employees are entitled to take up to four hours of protected time off from work, with pay, to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
The purpose of this policy is to comply with the New York State Public Health Law Article 13-E, and to assist in the creation of a healthful and comfortable environment for all students, faculty, administrators, staff visitors and any other members of the University of Rochester community.
Faculty and staff may be eligible for Unemployment Insurance compensation when their employment at the University is terminated under circumstances that meet the eligibility criteria established by the law and the applicable regulations of the New York State Department of Labor.
Effective management of vacation time, by both the department and by the staff member, should increase efficiency on the job, encourage continued employment, and reward University service.
All faculty and staff are encouraged to have the University deposit their pay into a checking and/or savings account with a bank(s), financial institution and/or a credit union of their choice.
