Actions at the University of Rochester are governed by the guidelines set forth in this policy as well as others. All members of the University community are expected to act professionally and treat others with respect when representing the University, whether that be internally when working with colleagues or externally with our community while engaged in a University-related activity.
All faculty and staff are encouraged to have the University deposit their pay into a checking and/or savings account with a bank(s), financial institution and/or a credit union of their choice.
The University is required by law, when served with an income execution, wage assignment, family court support order, or federal tax levy against a faculty or staff member, to make deductions from the individual's wages until the debt has been satisfied, or as otherwise required by the order.
Newly established positions or significantly changed existing positions will be classified by Human Resources. The appropriate position code and pay/salary grade will be assigned based on an analysis of the documented duties and responsibilities.
The University of Rochester provides two types of Leaves of Absence for employees. University Leave of Absence May provide employees with up to 12 months’ unpaid leave for reasons such as education, dependent or elder care, or community service.
The intent of the PTO plan is to recognize an eligible employee's need to have time away from work for reasons such as illness or injury, doctor or dental appointments and to attend to personal business, and to provide the staff member with flexibility and tangible reward for time unused at the end of each Plan Year.
